The REDARC LFP1240 is a 12 volt 40 Amp In-Vehicle Battery Charger designed to charge your Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) batteries to their optimal level, regardless of their size.
The Lithium DC to DC charger provides a unique charging profile by using a two-stage process. The DC DC Charger is able to achieve a proven 100% charge helping to maximise the life of your battery.
The LFP1240 uses power from the vehicle charging system and solar panels to charge lithium auxiliary batteries. It features a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, allowing you to deliver the maximum amount of power from your solar panels to your auxiliary battery, even during low light conditions.
The lithium auxiliary battery DC charger is suitable for 12 and 24 volt vehicles, operating from 9 and 32 volts DC input.
Charging Lithium Batteries
Lithium Iron Phosphate auxiliary batteries are becoming more popular in recreational and industrial applications due to their improved storage capacity relative to size and weight. They are perfect for recreational vehicle power systems. However they require specific charging conditions in order to operate correctly and the battery itself must have cell balancing and an in-built battery management system. REDARC have considered this and designed a charging profile to complement the in-built battery systems.

The RK1260 relay Kit allows you to automatically switch between charging your auxiliary battery from the vehicle or from your solar panel when using either a BCDC1225 or BCDC1240. Poor quality relays can render the best dual battery installs useless. Redarc has tested and selected only the very best relay for its awarding winning BCDC range of in-vehicle battery chargers. The fully sealed, high quality relay included in the kit features heavy duty terminals ensuring the relay works safely up to and continuously at it’s 60A current limit. Standard relays with smaller terminals cannot withstand the long periods of high current charging needed when the battery is fl at which can result in overheating and ultimately failing. The RK1260 Relay Kit comes with everything needed to install an automatic change-over setup, with relay, wiring loom, butt splices, heat shrink, wiring diagram and instructions.
